where it began…

Street Beats was created by Adelaide-based artist, Oscar Reed. The concept emerged through splicing a portable DJ setup with silent disco headsets. Soon after imagining the idea, Reed commenced building his custom DJ harness, allowing the battery-powered decks to broadcast a live mix while on the move.

Street Beats was first brought to life at the 2022 Adelaide Fringe. It quickly gathered positive acclaim, selling out multiple shows at Australia’s biggest art festival. The show also received it’s first 5-star review from media group InDaily.
